Corporate Social Responsibility

We’re invested in the communities around us.

We’re invested in the communities around us.

From supporting projects related to education, the arts, business and those less in need, we’re a positive force for change.

Our commitment to corporate responsibility is core to, and embedded in, the way we do business. We believe we can do good things and play our part using our influence for good in the future of business and the world in which it works. We continuously strive to make positive contributions to, and manage the impacts of our business on, the environment, the communities that we live and work in and our employees.

Read about some of the initiatives we have been involved in below:

  • Pro Bono. RDJ is a part of ‘Pro Bono Pledge Ireland’, the first collaborative effort in Ireland to articulate the shared professional responsibility of lawyers to promote access to justice and provide pro bono legal assistance to those in need. The Pledge is coordinated by PILA (the Public Law Alliance, a project of FLAC - Free Legal Advice Centres) and supported by the Bar of Ireland, The Law Society of Ireland, and the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association.
  • Charitable events. We host, sponsor and participate in charity events throughout year to raise money for charities.
    • The annual RDJ Santa Cycle in Cork has raised over €175,000 for registered charities that include Cappagh Kids, Straight Ahead, Marymount University Hospice and Hospital and Cork Arc House.
    • RDJ’s running team have participated in running events, including the '10-For-10' Cork City Marathon Challenge, with The Sanctuary Runners. The Sanctuary Runners is a sport initiative which uses running to bring together asylum seekers, refugees and those in wider Irish society. With over 10,000 runners in 35 groups across Ireland, their model allows communities to get to know each other, fosters community integration and improves physical and mental health.
    • Members of our team also participated in fundraising events including the Cork City Marathon Challenge, the Calcutta Run in Dublin and Cork (with funds raised going to the Peter McVerry Trust and The Hope Foundation), BeLonG To Youth Services, and the Jack and Jill Foundation.
  • Volunteering. We are committed to strengthening our communities by dedicating our time and talent to local organisations, charities and businesses.
    • Our employees volunteer at Down Syndrome Ireland “Field of Dreams” annually, assisting with maintaining their horticultural site in Curraheen, Co. Cork.
    • A number of our partners sit on Boards for not for profit organisations such as Cork University Hospital Charity, Cork Youth Orchestras CLG, Fota Wildlife Park, Mercy University Hospital Foundation, NASC Migrant and Refugee Rights, South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital and Ag Eisteacht.
  • Arts in the Community. We believe arts and culture are vital to the development of a community. We are proud to support art centres, theatres and events that include Cork Film Festival, Cork Opera House, Cork Youth Orchestra and the Galway International Arts Festival.
