EU Commission Publishes New Procurement Thresholds
The European Commission has published the new thresholds that will come into force on 1 January 2016. The thresholds have increased very slightly for the new Directives. The thresholds have not been changed for the existing Directives. The latest information on the implementation timetable is that it is unlikely that the new Directives will be transposed in Ireland prior to the deadline of 18 April 2016. Therefore the current thresholds will continue to apply to procurements under the existing Directives until then.
The Commission has also published a new EU regulation making new standard forms available for public bodies to use when procuring goods, works and services under the new Directives. This regulation applies from 1 December 2015.
