RDJ advises West Cork Distillers on refinancing to support growth
RDJ advised West Cork Distillers (WCD), a leading producer of craft Irish whiskey and spirits, in raising a suite of bespoke working capital and other facilities with Bank of Ireland. The funds will be used for refinancing existing facilities and to support the continued growth in the business.
Founded in 2003 in Union Hall, West Cork by three lifelong friends, Denis McCarthy, Ger McCarthy and John O’Connell, WCD has grown substantially over the years, now exporting to over 70 countries worldwide. In addition to production of its high-quality Irish whiskey, the company also produce their own branded gin (Garnish Island) and vodka (Two Trees). In 2020, WCD moved to a new production facility in Skibbereen, making them the largest, wholly Irish owned distillery in the country.
RDJ Banking and Finance Partner, Cian Fenton advised on the financing transaction supported by Marion Meehan.
