RDJ appoints Diarmaid Gavin to lead the Firm’s Corporate and Commercial Group

RDJ has selected partner Diarmaid Gavin to lead firm’s Corporate and Commercial Group.

Diarmaid is a partner in the firm’s Cork office, where he represents a diverse range of international and domestic companies, financial institutions, private equity funds and public sector bodies. He has nearly two decades of experience advising on a range of commercial transactions from technology and outsourcing projects to intellectual property and research and development arrangements, as well as mergers and acquisitions, corporate group restructurings, joint ventures and investment transactions. Diarmaid also advises private and public sector clients on a variety of competition law matters including compliance, State aid and merger control.

As Head of RDJ’s Corporate and Commercial Group, Diarmaid succeeds Partner Gillian Keating, who has been instrumental in growing the practice to a team of more than 20 lawyers during her nine years in the role. She will continue her practice as a nationally renowned Corporate and M&A lawyer.

Earning his LLB from Trinity College Dublin, Diarmaid received an LLM in Advanced European law from Collège d'Europe, Bruges and a Diploma in Professional Legal Studies from the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice. Before joining RDJ, he spent a number of years working for a global law firm in London and Brussels. Diarmaid has been recognised for many years by The Legal 500 in the field of EU and Competition Law and Intellectual Property Law.
