About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Office Manager to join our team in Cork. The Office Manager’s role is to ensure an efficient, engaging, and safe working environment for our team as well as the management of our Legal Support teams.

This is a permanent, full-time position and will report to the Chief Operations Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • The supervision of all legal support and operational support staff including reception, canteen and porter services. Responsible for recruitment, training and development, managing performance and conducting annual performance reviews.
  • Coordination and management of the daily workloads to ensure that deadlines are met. Managing reallocation of duties where necessary to ensure all outstanding tasks are dealt with. Manage staff leave and absences, ensuring there is sufficient cover at all times.
  • Manage the day to day operations of the RDJ Cork office, ensuring a professional, efficient and safe office environment. Includes working with all relevant 3rd party suppliers and contractors to facilitate same.
  • Managing both staff and onsite client events including regular client breakfast events, team and staff lunches.
  • Working with team leads on seating plans, desk allocation and set ups. Includes facilitaton of the trainee rotation programme and allocation of parking where relevant.
  • Assist in the roll out of administration systems within the office, to include health and safety policies, manual handling training and others as required.
  • Point of contact for staff to raise issues that arise, responsible for issue resolution and escalation where necessary.
  • Additional responsibilities as required from time to time e.g.project work.
  • Ensure a collaborative culture to ensure that staff operate on a team basis and that members cover each other and work effectively together

Background & experience

The ideal candidate will be a highly organised and self-driven, contributing to an exceptional employee experience. Experience in a similar position in a legal or professional services firm and knowledge of law would be an advantage.

  • Strong people and supervisory skills are essential
  • Ability to plan and prioritise and manage multiple activities at any given time
  • Excellent IT skills (proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • The ability to use their own initiative
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others
